Terms & Conditions

Last updated 28 July 2026. These terms govern your use of howzithealthy.co.za and any order placed through it. Howzit Healthy (Pty) Ltd, Boksburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

1. Who we are

Howzit Healthy (Pty) Ltd is a South African company preparing and selling fresh, chilled prepared meals. "We", "us" and "our" mean the company. "You" means the person placing an order.

2. Orders and the weekly cycle

  • — Minimum order is 10 meals. This is a production constraint, not an upsell.
  • — Orders close at 23:59 on Wednesday. Orders placed after that fall into the following cycle.
  • — Delivery and collection happen on the Monday and Tuesday after the cutoff.
  • — An order is a request to buy. It is accepted when we confirm it and, for card payments, when payment clears. For manual EFT, your place is held until the cutoff and released if proof of payment does not arrive.
  • — Stock counts on the site are live but not reserved until checkout completes. If a flavour sells out mid-checkout, we tell you before taking payment.

3. Pricing and payment

  • — All prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable.
  • — Delivery inside the launch zone is R49, free on orders over R1 200. Collection is free.
  • — We accept card, PayFast, Yoco, Ozow and manual EFT. Card details are handled by the gateway and never reach our servers.
  • — Promotional and founder codes are limited in number, may be withdrawn at any time, and cannot be combined with one another or applied retrospectively to an order already placed.
  • — If a price is displayed in obvious error, we will contact you before processing rather than silently cancel.

4. Delivery and collection

  • — We deliver only inside the published launch zone. The area checker on the site is authoritative.
  • — The driver calls on arrival and waits up to ten minutes. If nobody is available and the order cannot be left safely, it returns to the kitchen. Because the cold chain is broken at that point, it cannot be re-delivered — see the Returns policy.
  • — Collection points have fixed hours published on the Delivery page. Orders not collected within their window cannot be held to the next week.
  • — Risk in the meals passes to you on delivery or collection.

5. Food safety, allergens and your responsibility

Our meals are cooked fresh and chilled, not frozen, and carry a shelf life of 5 days from the fulfilment date. Once they are in your hands, safe storage is your responsibility: refrigerate at 0–4 °C within an hour, follow the reheating instructions, and go by the printed use-by date.

Allergens are declared in full on every meal page. Our kitchen handles dairy, dried fruit, egg, fish, gluten, peanuts, sesame, soya and sulphites, and we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. If you have a severe allergy, please take that seriously — we would rather lose the sale than get this wrong.

6. The calorie calculator

The calculator produces a general estimate using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and a standard activity multiplier. It is not medical, nutritional or dietetic advice, it is not personalised to your health circumstances, and it must not be relied on as a substitute for consulting a qualified professional. We make no guarantee of any particular outcome from following it, and we accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of it. Nutritional values on meal pages are laboratory or recipe-calculated averages and may vary by a small margin between trays.

7. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access. We may suspend an account used fraudulently or abusively.

8. Cancellations and refunds

Set out in full in our Returns & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by South African law, our liability for any claim connected with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version live at the time you place an order is the one that applies to it. These terms are governed by South African law, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction. Questions: howzit@howzithealthy.co.za.
